A day at the lake...

This is a few days late...but we had a FUN day the Reidsville Lake Saturday! It was Facio's Family Fun Day for his job. Maddie got lots of attention (which she loves!) We got there at 11:30 and didn't leave until after 3pm. Needless to say, Maddie was tired. She fought her nap while we were there but I finally got her to take a short nap. When she fell asleep, I got them to "paint" a ladybug on her cheek. She didn't even budge! Here are some pics of our exciting family day!

So...Maddie and I are going to my grandma's Thursday when I get off of work at 3.

We will be in WV until Tuesday! We are super excited because Maddie's Great Great Grandma hasn't seen her since Christmas! Hopefully, my Aunt will be there too! However, I won't be posting for a few days since my Grandma has dial up and her Internet is SUPER slow!

But I'll be sure to post lots of pictures when we return.

Birthday Bash

Today Maddie and I went to Lauren's birthday party!! She is 3 years old! We had lots of fun! Maddie enjoyed playing with the kids and making Lauren mad by stealing her toys. She also had lots of fun in the grass (tried to eat it of course!) Here on some pictures of the exciting party!

What is wrong with me?? I can't believe I haven't posted pics in 5 days!!! Well, life has been super busy here the last week. Poor Facio has been working 10hr shifts and gets to bed around 4am. Then he gets up and gladly cares for Maddie while I work. Such a great daddy! Tomorrow Maddie and I are going to Lauren's (Alex & Janet's daughter) birthday party!!

TGIF

Whew what a long week! Too bad Facio has to work tomorrow and I have to work Sunday. That always makes for a bummer weekend. Maddie got a few new toys this week. I should be saving them for her birthday or Christmas but I just feel like she gets bored with her current toys.

Something funny happened tonight. I was fixing Maddie's dinner in the kitchen and while doing so, I thought to myself "hmmm she sure is quiet." I thought nothing of it and finished fixing her dinner. When I went into the living room, I found her with the bag of dried apples turned upside down with the apples everywhere. She some how managed to grab the bag and feed herself.

And here she is eating her peaches and carrots! She loves to feed herself as you can tell!

Ayyy, matey!! Where's the treasure??

So the family went on an adventure today! We joked that it was a treasure hunt because of Maddie's pirate flag. We got this carrier before our beach trip and love it sooo much. Maddie seemed to really enjoy the "ride". The first piece of "treasure" we found was one of Maddie's old binkies! haha at least we think it is hers. It was on our street just a few houses down from ours. She probably lost it on one of our previous adventures. Here is a picture for your pleasurable viewing!

Then we made our way to the park. Maddie always loves the park!

First stop...the shelter to unload & of course snap a few pictures.

Next was the jungle gym. Here Maddie is literally hanging on and won't let go!

We decided to let her crawl in the jungle gym and see what she would do. Well, boy did she take off!! Of course daddy stayed behind her in case she needed backup (she didn't).

That was pretty easy. Next obstacle...the stairs. Now granted, we don't have stairs at home so we figured it would be slight challenge. Not so much! She went right up those steps.

Finally, we head home! Maddie must of worn herself out because she fell asleep on the way home. Her poor little head was bobbling all around as Facio walked.

And this concludes our great adventure from today. I guess the only treasure we found was a historic binkie and some priceless memories of our little family!

Great Lola Visaya

Yesterday Maddie met her great Lola (grandma in Filipino) for the 1st time! She flew in from the Philippines Friday and is here in NC for about a year visiting. Maddie seemed to really connect with her and she smiled a bunch! Here are some pics of Maddie and her great grandma Visaya!

However, Bella Grace is still a little young to be playing with the feisty Maddie. Maddie kept trying to swat at her face and crawl all over her. Poor child!! Maybe in a few more months they will be able to actually play together. The mommies had fun though!

Maddie had so much fun watching Baby Einstien and playing with BG that she wore herself out. She fell asleep in the car as soon as I strapped her in! She is soo pieceful when she sleeps :)

Trying to Catch Up

Explosive Poopie

So the little stinker gave me the most wonderful gift today...

a MASSIVE poopie!!!

I'm talking up the back and all over the arms poopie! I was sitting at the computer and noticed she was being a little quiet so I looked over at her. She was crawling away and all I saw was her diaper DRAGGING the ground. Somehow the last person who changed her diaper (daddy) *wink wink* didn't do such a good job and one side came undone. I had to put her in the bathtub and peel her nasty clothes off her. And of course she got a bath tonight!!

Myrtle Beach

We went on our first family vacation last week! I figured I should share a little bit of our trip to

Myrtle Beach.

We drove down on Sunday June 29th and stayed 3 nights. The weather was pretty nice...it rained a little bit but was mostly hot and sunny. Therefore, we kept Maddie lathered in sunblock! She really enjoyed the pool and lazy river. We got her a floaty with a shade and she just loved floating around looking at everything and everyone. Here is a pic!

She wasn't too impressed with the ocean. She didn't like it splashing in her face.

We managed to take a walk down the strip and did a little shopping. Maddie kinda got grumpy but that was to be expected. Daddy ended up carrying her the last part of the way home.

The second night we were there we decided to keep Maddie up past her bedtime and take a walk along the beach. Facio carried her in the new frame carrier. She really enjoyed it and loved scratching daddy's head haha.

Considering Maddie is only 8 months old, we spent a good chunk of our vacation in the hotel room while she napped. We still had a great time just relaxing though.

On check out day we went the Ripley's Aquarium. Maddie wasn't too impressed with that either. She was ready for a nap and ended up falling asleep. But before she fell asleep, we had fun taking goofy pictures. Here she is swimming with the sharks!!
