Madelynn Marie was born today at 1:41pm via C Section.
Yesterday, Novemeber 3rd, Facio and I were eatting dinner at Applebee's in Greensboro when we were about to leave I went to the bathroom and noticed my water broke. So we left there and went to Ramon's (Facio's Dad) workplace and I called the doctor. He suggested I go to the hosptial for the nurse to check if I was in labor. By then I still wasnt in any pain. So around 11:30 we are on the way to the hospital and I felt the first contractions! Facio was driving like Maddie was going to fall out haha. He didnt realize it was such a long process!!
So we get to the hospital and they determine my water really did break and I was in labor. I was going to be admitted! I can't tell you how excited I was to finally meet the little creature inside my tummy :) When I was admitted, I was already 3cm dialated. Well I got the epidural pretty early, probably around 1:30am. No more pain after that!! I was all smiles! I was given some pitocin too help strengthen the contractions. Finally by around 11am I was ready to push. I still couldnt feel any pain btw. I pushed about 2 hours when the docotor decided Maddie wasnt progressing and he suggest a C section. I was kinda upset beacuse I pushed for so long for no reason. But I was okay with it as long as Maddie was born healthy.
They wheeled me in the OR around 1pm. During the surgery Facio kept asking me if I could feel what they were doing. I didnt thank God. All I could feel was pushing and tugging. I was struggling to stay awake after being up all night and being so drugged up. All I kept thinking was "Stay awake Heather or you will miss the birth of your daughter!"
Maddie was born at 1:41pm and she came out holding on to her mommy (says daddy)! She weighed 7lbs 10z and she was 20.75in long! Her cry sounded like moaning cat!! But at least she was crying. Facio got to hold her a few minutes next to me and then they took her to the nursery. There Facio got to watch them assess her and what not while I was still being operated on. That part was the worst! The pain meds started wearing off so I was feeling more of the pain plus I was trying to take a nap. When they finished, I had to go to a recovery room for another hour before I could hold my daughter. That was the longest hour I've ever endured! I finally got to meet Madelynn around 4:30pm!!
